Published dates and unconfirmed windows

Application timing and source scope

Central South University (中南大学) publishes separate dated windows per scholarship programme rather than one common deadline. For the 2026 intake the university's own 2026年中南大学国际学生奖学金招生简章, dated 25 December 2025, gives a self-funded and university-scholarship window of 即日起至2026年5月31日 — applications open from publication and close on 31 May 2026 — which has now passed; the same 31 May 2026 cut-off appears on the English Scholarship page as the University Scholarship deadline and on the Admission page for undergraduate and graduate programmes. The English admission page separately shows a Chinese Language Program deadline of 10 June 2026. For CSC programmes the institution publishes distinct dated windows: the 中国政府奖学金“高水平研究生”项目 (High Level Graduate Student Program) 2026/2027 notice of 21 October 2025 closes 15 February 2026; the 中国政府来华留学卓越奖学金项目 (Youth of Excellence Scheme of China) 2026/2027 notice of 21 October 2025 requires the pre-admission letter by 15 February 2026 and the CSC online filing by 24:00 on 15 March 2026; the 中国政府奖学金“丝绸之路”奖学金项目 (Silk Road Program) 2026/2027 notice of 26 December 2025 closes 20 May 2026; the 2026年中国政府奖学金国别双边项目 (Bilateral Program) notice of 27 October 2025 states the application period is generally early January to early April each year and is filed through the dispatching authority in the applicant's own country rather than through the university; and the 2026中国政府奖学金短期科研交流项目 (China Link) notice of 22 January 2026 requires the application at least three months before study begins with a China arrival date no later than 31 August 2027. For the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, the 2026年中南大学国际中文教师奖学金申请办法 of 13 February 2026 set the September 2026 intake student deadline at 15 May 2026 with recommending institutions and host universities reviewing by 25 May 2026; that window has closed. A newer notice, 2027年春季学期中南大学国际中文教师奖学金申请办法, was published on 24 September 2026 for one-semester Chinese-language study beginning March 2027. As rechecked on 2 October 2026, student applications are accepted from publication through 31 October 2026 and recommending-institution and host-university review closes on 10 November 2026. Applicants need HSK 3 (180 points) and HSKK; the five-month scholarship covers tuition, a twin on-campus room, CNY 2,500 per month and comprehensive medical insurance. This is a non-degree spring scholarship window, separate from full-degree admission. All other 2026 windows above have closed, and no 2027/2028 full-degree intake notice had been published as of 2 October 2026. The 2027/28 CSC Type B availability remains unconfirmed; the Type B coverage in this record applies to graduate routes only, while undergraduate CSC support is under the separate bilateral/Type A channel. Accommodation/insurance amounts should be treated as route- and schedule-specific. The profile’s target-to-safety and relative-admission-odds language is not supported by published applicant/award rates and has been removed from the overview.

Document checklist and upload instructions

Use the document list for your exact program. Prepare these common items, then add any scholarship-specific forms:

  • Identity: passport information page and photograph. Copy your name, birth date and passport number exactly into each application.
  • Education: diploma or official expected-graduation certificate, transcripts and any required degree authentication. Include the original language and certified translations where requested.
  • Language: the required HSK, IELTS, TOEFL or accepted alternative. A medium-of-instruction letter replaces a test only if the program allows it.
  • Academic materials: study plan or research proposal; graduate recommendation letters; supervisor or pre-admission letter when required. Some systems send referees a private submission link.
  • Additional requirements: CSCA results for applicable undergraduate routes; portfolio for relevant arts programs; medical form, police clearance, financial guarantee or guardian documents when listed. Check validity periods before arranging time-sensitive documents.

Scan each complete document clearly. Use the file type and size limit shown beside its upload field; combine multi-page documents only where the system permits. Open every uploaded file to check legibility, page order, signatures and stamps. Keep a copy of everything you submit.

Application templates
How to fill the university application

Follow the submission method in your programme's notice. The steps below apply when it requires an online form; email and paper applications follow their separate source-linked instructions above.

  1. Open the university link for your degree level. On an admissions website, find the international-student application entry, then register or sign in. Button names vary between systems.

  4. Complete the study plan and referee fields. Upload each document to its matching slot; enter a CSC application number only if your route asks for one.
  5. Preview the whole application. Follow the fee instructions, submit the form and check that the system acknowledges submission. Saving a draft does not submit it.
How to fill the CSC application
  1. Open the CSC portal below and register or sign in. Complete your personal details before starting the scholarship application.
  2. Select the application category specified in the current scholarship call. Type A commonly uses a dispatching authority and Type B a university; confirm the exact category and agency number in that route's current notice and check the receiving institution displayed by the system.
  3. Select the degree category, teaching language, major and study period specified by the eligible program. Keep these consistent with your university application.
  4. Upload the requested documents, review all fields and submit. Download the completed application form; sign and upload it to the university or dispatching-authority system when instructed.
  5. Save your application number and a copy of the submitted form. If you withdraw to edit, submit again before the deadline and tell the receiving office if it already began reviewing your application.

University agency number on record: 10533. For Type B, match it to Central South University in CSC. Type A uses your dispatching authority's number instead.
