Dated 2026 undergraduate/JMD timeline and programmes, separately retrieved undated JMD fees, requirements and scholarship pages, and standing CIE accommodation/insurance rules with the tariff effective autumn 2025. Their scopes differ; this is not a verified 2027 intake or tariff. · recorded source check: September 17, 2026
- Application fee — Joint Multi-Degree route
- The currently retrieved official JMD FEES page lists CNY 600, non-refundable. The dated 2026 undergraduate guide allows online payment or bank transfer and says an unpaid application is invalid. The earlier five-days-after-acknowledgement bank instruction was not corroborated in the readable JMD fee/how components or dated 2026 guide; confirm any programme-specific payment deadline with ECUST before remitting.
- 2026 Joint Multi-Degree undergraduate windows
- Historical 2026 JMD rounds: Early Decision 28 February with planned interviews 9–13 March and pre-admission notification by 31 March; Early Action 30 April with interviews 11–15 May and pre-admission notification by 29 May; Regular Decision 10 July with pre-admission notification by 31 July. Final-admission notifications begin 1 June 2026. Late applications may be reviewed if places remain; these dates do not establish a 2027 schedule.
- Deposit
- For the 2026 JMD timeline, the deposit is 50% of first-academic-year tuition and is payable within 10 days after receiving the pre-admission decision. It is separate from the CNY 600 application fee. The current JMD refund policy says personal withdrawal does not refund tuition/deposit; special deferral and force-majeure provisions are stated separately. Early application is encouraged, and late review depends on remaining places.
- Scholarship eligibility by round
- Early Decision applicants have increased opportunities for scholarships and Early Action applicants have opportunities for scholarships, while Regular Decision applicants have no opportunity for the ECUST Undergraduate Freshmen Scholarship; students who completed the Chinese language or foundation programme at ECUST can apply for the ECUST Alumni Progression Scholarship.
- ECUST Undergraduate Freshmen Scholarship
- The university's own entrance award for international undergraduates, administered by the College of International Education, with eligibility criteria, duration and an application procedure published on the official scholarships page.
- ECUST Alumni Progression Scholarship
- The undated JMD scholarship page describes self-funded international students who completed a previous stage at ECUST and are admitted to a higher bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree, with good conduct/academic performance and no other scholarship. The Alumni Progression award is 10% first-year tuition refund for the higher degree. Apply for the degree online by its programme deadline; no separate award application is required. Confirm the applicable year’s terms.
- ECUST Outstanding Performance Scholarship
- An award for enrolled students, assessed on the average score of the previous academic year and social activity performance, with the published note that a full tuition fee refund for one academic year is among the outcomes. The page states that meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee an award, that each student may receive only one scholarship, that scholarships cannot be combined, and that recipients of other external funding such as government or corporate scholarships are not eligible for additional university scholarships.
- Tuition
- The dated 2026 undergraduate guide lists JMD single-degree annual tuition 55,000 English/40,000 Chinese and double-degree 70,000. The currently retrieved undated JMD page separates Essential single-degree 55,000 English/40,000 Chinese, Elite(ECUST) double-degree 90,000 English and Elite(International) dual-degree 70,000 ECUST tuition. The international pathway additionally charges partner-university tuition in year 3. Its single-degree estimated annual total remains 105,000 Chinese/120,000 English; ECUST-double 160,000 and international-dual 140,000. Confirm the programme/version before payment; these standing plan figures do not establish 2027 fees.
- Accommodation
- Lizhi Dormitory single room CNY 110 per day on the 8th and 14th floors and CNY 80 per day on other floors; the same CNY 110 per day rate applies to short-term programme students. Accommodation fees are payable in full for the whole semester including vacations, and full scholarship students are exempt from the room fee but must sign the accommodation contract.
- Medical insurance
- CNY 400 for half a year and CNY 800 for one year for the Comprehensive Insurance for International Students required by Ministry of Education regulations, with the amount subject to the insurance company's update; the Joint Multi-Degree fees page lists the same CNY 800 per year figure.
- CSCA test
- The China Scholastic Competency Assessment is organised by the China Scholarship Council and jointly developed with Chinese university experts, assessed on a 100-point scale per subject, with five sittings in 2026 in January, March, April, June and December. Required subjects vary by major and are published in the 2026 Open for Admission Undergraduate Majors notice.
- 2026 programmes open for admission
- The notice dated 30 December 2025 lists the English-taught three-year Joint Multi-Degree programmes (Intelligent Chemical Engineering, Biopharmaceutical Engineering, Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, International Economics and Trade and Visual Communication Design), the Chinese-taught three-year Joint Multi-Degree programmes (Computer Science and Technology and Business Administration), and the four-year Chinese-taught single-degree programmes across chemical engineering, chemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy, materials, resources and environment, information science, mechanical engineering, mathematics, physics, business, social and public administration, art design and media, foreign languages, law and sports.

- Tuition notes
- The currently retrieved JMD fee component distinguishes Essential single-degree, Elite(ECUST) double-degree and Elite(International) dual-degree plans. Its third-year requirement to pay both ECUST and the overseas university applies to the international dual pathway, not the entirely Shanghai single/ECUST-double plans. Overseas housing, insurance and living expenses follow the host country; currency approximations are estimates. The dated 2026 guide and undated current plan table differ on double-degree pricing; confirm the applicable version.
- Accommodation
- On-campus accommodation is published on the ECUST accommodation page and priced per day: a single room on the 8th and 14th floors of the Lizhi Dormitory costs CNY 110 per day and a single room on other floors costs CNY 80 per day, with the same CNY 110 per day rate applying to short-term programme students. Accommodation fees must be paid in full for the entire semester, covering the whole duration including winter and summer vacations; full scholarship students do not pay the room fee but must sign the International Students Accommodation Contract at Room 108 of the College of International Education on registration.
- Medical insurance
- The official tariff published 9 October 2025, effective autumn 2025, lists comprehensive insurance CNY 400/semester and 800/year. The undated JMD FEES component lists 800/year, subject to insurer updates. The current insurance information page explains purchase/registration but does not itself display these prices. This is source-attributed standing tariff information, not a confirmed 2027 quote.
- Entry requirements
- JMD’s undated entry page accepts age 16 or above, with a China-resident legal guardian for under 18; the dated 2026 undergraduate guide instead says over 16. English: IELTS 6/TOEFL 80/Duolingo 105 or its stated prior-study/native exemptions. Chinese: HSK4≥190 science/engineering,≥210 humanities/business and writing≥60, or the stated study-proof exemption. JMD permits provisional language submission before final offer. Its personal statement is at most 800 words and includes a self-introduction video; the 2026 general undergraduate checklist asks a study plan of at least 800 words and medical proof. JMD calls CSCA preferred for priority, while the dated undergraduate guide lists CSCA results in its checklist. Confirm which programme-specific rule applies.
