Application timing and source scope

Harbin Institute of Technology publishes a dated application period for the September 2026 intake. Its master's and doctoral admissions pages (College of International Education, studyathit.hit.edu.cn) state plainly that 'the deadline for September 2026 intake is May 31st, 2026' for self-financed applicants; that date has passed. For the Chinese Government Scholarship (Type B) the same pages and the dedicated CSC page give two stages: Stage 1 closed on 31 December 2025 and Stage 2 closed on 20 February 2026, with applications opening 1 November 2025. CSC Type A has no university date — it is 'subject to notification from a Chinese embassy or consulate', and applicants apply through the embassy with HIT named as first-priority institution. The HIT International Students Scholarship carried a 31 May 2026 deadline, the same date as self-funded admission, and its award tiers are settled at admission. The recorded 17 September 2026 degree-source review did not establish a notice for the September 2027 degree intake, so the May 2027 window can only be described as an approximation based on the 2026 pattern. The 2026 graduate self-funded/HIT-award deadline was 31 May; the 2026 bachelor self-funded/HIT-award deadline was 15 July. Both have passed. The HIT scholarship fee is CNY 600, versus CNY 400 for self-funded applicants. A separate winter short-term route has a 30 November cutoff; its opening date is not stated. The recorded degree-source review did not establish a 2027 degree deadline. Separately, the long-term Chinese-language HTML page read on 3 October 2026 explicitly dates spring study March–June 2027 with a 15 January 2027 application deadline and autumn study September–December 2027 with a 15 July 2027 deadline; it states no opening date. The short-term HTML page dates winter study 28 December 2026–22 January 2027 with a November 30 cutoff, without printing a year beside the cutoff. Read that cutoff within this stated winter cycle; confirm its exact timestamp with HIT. These are non-degree language routes, not 2027 degree/CSC deadlines. The linked yearless long-term PDF differs on fee, minimum age, portal and submission order; confirm the current course instructions before payment.

Document checklist and upload instructions

Use the document list for your exact program. Prepare these common items, then add any scholarship-specific forms:

  • Identity: passport information page and photograph. Copy your name, birth date and passport number exactly into each application.
  • Education: diploma or official expected-graduation certificate, transcripts and any required degree authentication. Include the original language and certified translations where requested.
  • Language: the required HSK, IELTS, TOEFL or accepted alternative. A medium-of-instruction letter replaces a test only if the program allows it.
  • Academic materials: study plan or research proposal; graduate recommendation letters; supervisor or pre-admission letter when required. Some systems send referees a private submission link.
  • Additional requirements: CSCA results for applicable undergraduate routes; portfolio for relevant arts programs; medical form, police clearance, financial guarantee or guardian documents when listed. Check validity periods before arranging time-sensitive documents.

Scan each complete document clearly. Use the file type and size limit shown beside its upload field; combine multi-page documents only where the system permits. Open every uploaded file to check legibility, page order, signatures and stamps. Keep a copy of everything you submit.

How to fill the university application

Follow the submission method in your programme's notice. The steps below apply when it requires an online form; email and paper applications follow their separate source-linked instructions above.

  1. Open the university link for your degree level. On an admissions website, find the international-student application entry, then register or sign in. Button names vary between systems.

  3. Enter personal information as it appears in your passport. List education and employment dates accurately, and enter a reliable email address.
  4. Complete the study plan and referee fields. Upload each document to its matching slot; enter a CSC application number only if your route asks for one.
  5. Preview the whole application. Follow the fee instructions, submit the form and check that the system acknowledges submission. Saving a draft does not submit it.
How to fill the CSC application
  1. Open the CSC portal below and register or sign in. Complete your personal details before starting the scholarship application.
  2. Select the application category specified in the current scholarship call. Type A commonly uses a dispatching authority and Type B a university; confirm the exact category and agency number in that route's current notice and check the receiving institution displayed by the system.
  3. Select the degree category, teaching language, major and study period specified by the eligible program. Keep these consistent with your university application.
  4. Upload the requested documents, review all fields and submit. Download the completed application form; sign and upload it to the university or dispatching-authority system when instructed.
  5. Save your application number and a copy of the submitted form. If you withdraw to edit, submit again before the deadline and tell the receiving office if it already began reviewing your application.

University agency number on record: 10213. For Type B, match it to Harbin Institute of Technology in CSC. Type A uses your dispatching authority's number instead.
