- Entry requirements
- Language: Chinese-taught programmes require HSK Level 4 at 200 points or above across all three CSC brochures and the Gansu Silk Road brochure, with the HSK report valid (two-year validity). Applicants to the Bachelor of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, Chinese Language and Literature, and the master's in International Chinese Language Education must hold HSK Level 6 at 180 points or above. The International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship requires HSK Level 5 at 210 points plus HSKK Intermediate at 60 points for the master's, and HSK Level 4 at 210 points plus HSKK Intermediate at 60 points for the bachelor's.. Age: CSC Type A: bachelor's 18-25, master's 18-30, doctoral 18-35, general advanced students 18-45, senior advanced students 18-50. CSC Type B: master's no more than 30, doctoral no more than 35. Gansu Silk Road: bachelor's 18-25, master's 20-28, doctoral 20-35. International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship: 16-35 as at 1 September 2026, relaxed to 45 for serving Chinese-language teachers, and normally no more than 25 for bachelor's applicants.. Required degree: Bachelor's applicants need senior high school graduation or equivalent; master's applicants need a bachelor's degree or equivalent; doctoral applicants need a master's degree or equivalent. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid passport, in good physical and mental health, with no record of violating laws, regulations or university rules; applicants who have received an academic warning or withdrawal warning are not accepted. Applicants must not be receiving another Chinese government scholarship.
