- NUIST's CSC agency number is 10300. Its Silk Road Program notice states verbatim: 「留学项目种类选择“Type B”,南京信息工程大学受理机构编号为10300」 — applicants select Type B in the CSC system and enter 10300 as the receiving institution number.
- Programmes
- The 2026 CSC Silk Road Program (丝绸之路项目) application period was 1 March 2026 to 20 May 2026, for master's and doctoral applicants from Russia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Ghana, Morocco, Ethiopia and Tanzania, taught in English in meteorology, applied meteorology, computer science and technology, artificial intelligence, and information and communication engineering.
- Tuition
- The Silk Road Program is a full scholarship covering tuition, on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and a stipend of CNY 3,000 per month for master's students and CNY 3,500 per month for doctoral students. The NUIST-WMO and CSC WMO programs publish the same stipend rates.

- The CSC High-Level Graduate Program (高水平研究生项目) at NUIST is a full scholarship covering tuition, on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and a stipend of CNY 3,000 per month for master's students; candidates are nominated by NUIST to the China Scholarship Council, and the notice states a closing date of 31 March.

- Silk Road Program entry requirements: a non-Chinese citizen in good physical and mental health; a master's applicant must hold a bachelor's degree with excellent grades and be no older than 35 (the notice repeats an age limit of 25 in one line and 35 in the next); a doctoral applicant must hold a master's degree with excellent grades and be no older than 40; Chinese-taught applicants need at least HSK Level 4 and English-taught applicants need TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.0 unless they are native English speakers.

- The CSC WMO Program requires a bachelor's degree in an atmospheric science field for a master's applicant (no older than 35) and a master's degree in an atmospheric science field for a doctoral applicant (no older than 40), with a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale and TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.0 for non-native English speakers.

- General graduate entry requirements published in Chinese and English: a master's applicant must hold a bachelor's degree and be under 35; a doctoral applicant must hold a master's degree and be under 40; a bachelor's applicant must be a high school graduate under 25, and applicants under 18 must submit a notarised guardian authorisation for a guardian in China.

- Application documents for graduate programmes: passport photo page, notarised highest degree certificate, notarised academic transcripts, two recommendation letters signed by a professor or associate professor with contact details, a study plan or research proposal of at least 1,000 characters, a doctoral supervisor's acceptance letter for doctoral applicants, published papers where available, HSK Level 5 or above for Chinese-taught programmes, TOEFL iBT 80 / IELTS 6.0 / Duolingo 100 for English-taught programmes, a bank statement covering tuition, accommodation and living costs, a non-criminal record certificate, and the Foreigner Physical Examination Form valid six months.
- Entry requirements
- NUIST publishes a CSCA requirement: all bachelor's applicants must sit the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) and submit a valid score report, and an application without one will not be processed; the required subjects depend on the teaching language and the intended field, with mathematics and physics for science, engineering and agriculture, mathematics alone for humanities, social sciences, economics and management, and additional professional Chinese papers for Chinese-taught programmes.

- Published study costs: application fee CNY 500 (non-refundable); tuition CNY 15,000 per year undergraduate, CNY 20,000 per year master's, CNY 25,000 per year doctoral; accommodation CNY 4,000 per year for a single room and CNY 2,000 to 2,500 per year for a twin room; comprehensive medical insurance CNY 600 per year; residence permit CNY 400; medical check-up CNY 526; electricity CNY 0.55 per kWh with water free and heating charged separately.
- Application portal
- NUIST publishes an anti-fraud notice stating that the university does not authorise any individual or organisation to charge fees in any form in exchange for guaranteed admission, and that all international applicants should rely solely on admissions information published on the official website.
- Scholarship
- Scholarship recipients must take part in an annual review; those who fail it lose the scholarship, and recipients may not simultaneously hold other Chinese government scholarships at any level.
