The university recommends candidates after reviewing materials, and the final admission result is determined by the expert review of the China Scholarship Council. Enrolment time is fixed by the official Admission Notice issued after CSC approval, and students who fail to register within the prescribed period lose their admission qualification.
- Application fee
- Undergraduate, master's and doctoral programme applicants pay CNY 520; language-programme applicants pay CNY 450. Payment is by Alipay or WeChat, or by Chinese bank card, or by uploading a transfer receipt; only applications that have paid the fee are considered valid. - For Chinese-taught programmes an HSK certificate valid within two years is required: for master's programmes HSK Level 5 at 210 or above with no single section below 70, and for doctoral programmes HSK Level 6 at 180 or above with no single section below 60. For English-taught programmes: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90 or Cambridge English C1. Applicants who obtained a bachelor's or master's degree taught in Chinese at a Chinese university within two years, with a Chinese-language thesis, are exempt from the HSK requirement.
- Remedial Chinese study route
- Applicants whose Chinese does not meet the entry requirement may study Chinese for one year before starting their major, but must already hold HSK Level 4 at 180 or above; after the year of Chinese study they must pass the examination to enter their major, and applicants who do not need remedial Chinese are given preference under otherwise equal conditions.
- Eligibility ages and scholarship exclusivity
- Master's applicants should be no more than 35 years old and doctoral applicants no more than 40, in principle, and only master's or doctoral programmes may be applied for under this award. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health with excellent academic records and good academic development potential, and must not simultaneously receive funding from other scholarships set up by Chinese governments at any level or by institutions, excluding one-off awards.
