Application fee

CNY 500 or USD 80 Shanghai University of Sport charges an application fee (报名费) of USD 80 or CNY 500, stated in every one of its published 2025 international admission guides. The Chinese Government Scholarship Type B guide (wsc.sus.edu.cn/info/1138/2905.htm) says verbatim: 「同时支付报名费80美元或500元人民币(报名费一经支付,不予退还)」 — applicants must pay the fee when submitting the online application, and it is non-refundable. The master's and doctoral guide (info/1138/2909.htm) repeats it under 第二步:支付报名费 as 「80美元或500元人民币(报名费一经支付,不予退还)」, and the Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship guide (info/1138/2906.htm) and the President's Scholarship guide (info/1138/2907.htm) both state the same figure and add 「缴纳报名费后的申请才视为有效申请」 — an application counts as valid only after the fee is paid. Payment is by online transfer to the university's Agricultural Bank of China Shanghai branch account and must carry the applicant's passport name and the words 报名费. The CNY 500 figure is recorded here; the USD 80 alternative is the same fee quoted in foreign currency. This is the application fee and not tuition: the same office publishes undergraduate tuition separately at CNY 22,000-24,000 per year, recorded under tuition.

Application timing and source scope

Shanghai University of Sport (上海体育大学) publishes dated admission guides through the Office of International Exchange (国际交流处 / 国际学生管理办公室, wsc.sus.edu.cn), all read on 17 September 2026. The previously recorded 2025 windows below are historical and closed. Newer 2026 guides have been recovered from the university admission site: the High-Level Graduate route accepted university applications January 1–February 28, 2026, ending at 23:59 Beijing time, followed by document review/interview by March 15 and CSC submission by selected candidates by March 20. The English master's guide separately closed the President's scholarship route April 30 and self-funded admission May 31, 2026. These 2026 rounds are also closed; no 2027 window is established by these guides. Self-funded bachelor's programmes (2025上海体育大学国际学生本科专业招生简章): applications ran 1 January 2025 to 30 May 2025, with tuition stated as CNY 22,000-24,000 per year and the notice adding that scholarship applicants must observe the separate scholarship deadlines. Self-funded master's and doctoral programmes (2025年上海体育大学国际硕博士研究生招生简章): applications ran 1 January 2025 to 30 May 2025 (the guide prints the year as 2024 in one place, an evident typographical error for 2025), and that guide names three separate closing dates. Chinese Government Scholarship High-Level Graduate Program (中国政府奖学金-"高水平研究生"项目, Type B): 1 January 2025 to 28 February 2025, 23:59 Beijing time, for master's and doctoral applicants only, entry September 2025; the university completed material review, online professional interview and scholarship assessment by 15 March 2025 and notified nominated candidates by email, who then had to complete the CSC online form by 20 March 2025 under Type B. Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship for International Students (上海市外国留学生政府奖学金): 1 January 2025 to 30 April 2025. SUS President's Scholarship for International Students (国际学生校长奖学金): 1 January 2025 to 30 April 2025. The 2025 windows are retained as historical evidence. The recovered 2026 guides above supersede the earlier statement that no newer guide was available.

Document checklist and upload instructions

Use the document list for your exact program. Prepare these common items, then add any scholarship-specific forms:

  • Identity: passport information page and photograph. Copy your name, birth date and passport number exactly into each application.
  • Education: diploma or official expected-graduation certificate, transcripts and any required degree authentication. Include the original language and certified translations where requested.
  • Language: the required HSK, IELTS, TOEFL or accepted alternative. A medium-of-instruction letter replaces a test only if the program allows it.
  • Academic materials: study plan or research proposal; graduate recommendation letters; supervisor or pre-admission letter when required. Some systems send referees a private submission link.
  • Additional requirements: CSCA results for applicable undergraduate routes; portfolio for relevant arts programs; medical form, police clearance, financial guarantee or guardian documents when listed. Check validity periods before arranging time-sensitive documents.

Scan each complete document clearly. Use the file type and size limit shown beside its upload field; combine multi-page documents only where the system permits. Open every uploaded file to check legibility, page order, signatures and stamps. Keep a copy of everything you submit.

Application templates
How to fill the university application

Follow the submission method in your programme's notice. The steps below apply when it requires an online form; email and paper applications follow their separate source-linked instructions above.

  1. Open the university link for your degree level. On an admissions website, find the international-student application entry, then register or sign in. Button names vary between systems.
  2. Choose the correct entry year, degree, teaching language and program. Read its requirements before selecting your funding option.
  3. Enter personal information as it appears in your passport. List education and employment dates accurately, and enter a reliable email address.
  4. Complete the study plan and referee fields. Upload each document to its matching slot; enter a CSC application number only if your route asks for one.
  5. Preview the whole application. Follow the fee instructions, submit the form and check that the system acknowledges submission. Saving a draft does not submit it.
How to fill the CSC application
  1. Open the CSC portal below and register or sign in. Complete your personal details before starting the scholarship application.
  2. Select the application category specified in the current scholarship call. Type A commonly uses a dispatching authority and Type B a university; confirm the exact category and agency number in that route's current notice and check the receiving institution displayed by the system.
  3. Select the degree category, teaching language, major and study period specified by the eligible program. Keep these consistent with your university application.
  4. Upload the requested documents, review all fields and submit. Download the completed application form; sign and upload it to the university or dispatching-authority system when instructed.
  5. Save your application number and a copy of the submitted form. If you withdraw to edit, submit again before the deadline and tell the receiving office if it already began reviewing your application.

University agency number on record: 10277. For Type B, match it to Shanghai University of Sport in CSC. Type A uses your dispatching authority's number instead.
