Application fee

CNY 500 The 2026 admission brochures published by Shanxi University's School of International Education and Exchange state the application fee explicitly. The 2026 Chinese Government Scholarship brochure and the 2026 international graduate programme brochure both carry an itemised 'Expenses in China' (在华费用) table whose first line reads '申请费 500元/人 — 可接受现金和电子支付,费用不退' / 'Application Fee 500 — Cash & Online payment; Non-refundable'. That figure is the application fee only, per person and non-refundable. The same table separately lists tuition (master's RMB 22,000 per year and doctoral RMB 24,000 per year, following university tuition standards), medical insurance at RMB 800 per year, visa fee at RMB 800 per year, medical examination at RMB 500, and accommodation at RMB 300 per month for a master's triple room or RMB 500 per month for a doctoral double room; those are tuition, insurance, visa, medical and accommodation charges and are not the application fee. The application fee is well below the build's CNY 2,000 ceiling.

Tuition notes
No tuition table for international students could be read. The SIEE English site's Degree Program, How to Apply, Programmes overview and scholarship sub-pages all render with empty content bodies, and the Chinese-language notices for the 2026 autumn Chinese language programme and the 2026 1+4 foundation programme likewise carry empty article bodies. The only fee-adjacent statement read on the site is in the Taiwan-region undergraduate notice, which states that fees for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students are the same standard as for mainland students and that charges follow the university's regulations — that notice concerns Taiwan students, not international students, and states no amount.
Entry requirements
Language: unverified — the SIEE programme and application pages render empty bodies, so no HSK, IELTS or TOEFL threshold could be read. Required degree: unverified — the SIEE programmes overview page states that degree programmes cover all bachelor's, master's and doctoral programmes offered by the university and that non-degree programmes provide a foundation programme and various Chinese language programmes, but no entry qualifications are stated on a page that could be read

Master’s/doctoral CSC admission

Obtain a Shanxi professor’s recommendation and the required university acceptance letter. Apply in SXU’s portal under Degree Program–CSC, then CSC Type B, agency 10108. Document checklist and upload instructions

Use the document list for your exact program. Prepare these common items, then add any scholarship-specific forms:

  • Identity: passport information page and photograph. Copy your name, birth date and passport number exactly into each application.
  • Education: diploma or official expected-graduation certificate, transcripts and any required degree authentication. Include the original language and certified translations where requested.
  • Language: the required HSK, IELTS, TOEFL or accepted alternative. A medium-of-instruction letter replaces a test only if the program allows it.
  • Academic materials: study plan or research proposal; graduate recommendation letters; supervisor or pre-admission letter when required. Some systems send referees a private submission link.
  • Additional requirements: CSCA results for applicable undergraduate routes; portfolio for relevant arts programs; medical form, police clearance, financial guarantee or guardian documents when listed. Check validity periods before arranging time-sensitive documents.

Scan each complete document clearly. Use the file type and size limit shown beside its upload field; combine multi-page documents only where the system permits. Open every uploaded file to check legibility, page order, signatures and stamps. Keep a copy of everything you submit.

Application templates
How to fill the university application

Follow the submission method in your programme's notice. The steps below apply when it requires an online form; email and paper applications follow their separate source-linked instructions above.

  1. Open the university link for your degree level. On an admissions website, find the international-student application entry, then register or sign in. Button names vary between systems.
  2. Choose the correct entry year, degree, teaching language and program. Read its requirements before selecting your funding option.
  3. Enter personal information as it appears in your passport. List education and employment dates accurately, and enter a reliable email address.
  4. Complete the study plan and referee fields. Upload each document to its matching slot; enter a CSC application number only if your route asks for one.
  5. Preview the whole application. Follow the fee instructions, submit the form and check that the system acknowledges submission. Saving a draft does not submit it.
How to fill the CSC application
  1. Open the CSC portal below and register or sign in. Complete your personal details before starting the scholarship application.
  2. Select the application category specified in the current scholarship call. Type A commonly uses a dispatching authority and Type B a university; confirm the exact category and agency number in that route's current notice and check the receiving institution displayed by the system.
  3. Select the degree category, teaching language, major and study period specified by the eligible program. Keep these consistent with your university application.
  4. Upload the requested documents, review all fields and submit. Download the completed application form; sign and upload it to the university or dispatching-authority system when instructed.
  5. Save your application number and a copy of the submitted form. If you withdraw to edit, submit again before the deadline and tell the receiving office if it already began reviewing your application.

University agency number on record: 10108. For Type B, match it to Shanxi University in CSC. Type A uses your dispatching authority's number instead.
