Published dates and unconfirmed windows

Application timing and source scope

Sichuan University's Overseas Students Office publishes a dated application calendar for the 2026 autumn intake: master's, doctoral and non-degree programmes ran 1 November 2025 to 30 May 2026, undergraduate programmes ran 1 January 2026 to 30 May 2026, and non-degree programmes ran 15 March 2026 to 30 May 2026; all three windows have now closed. The official eligibility page and FAQ give a standing spring application period of September 15–November 30, with no year stated, for non-degree programmes and the School of Overseas Education Chinese-language undergraduate programme. This rule does not independently confirm a dated Spring 2027 window or current open status. The Chinese Government Scholarship Type B (Chinese University Program) runs on its own cycle and the university's own scholarship notice states the time for application is from November 1 to February 28 — these are standing annual dates; they do not independently confirm a November 1, 2026 opening for a dated 2027 CSC call. CSC Type A is filed through a Chinese embassy or consulate abroad, where the applicant must first obtain an SCU pre-admission notice, so its closing date is set by the embassy and not by SCU. The Chengdu Sister Cities Scholarship Program, for citizens of Chengdu's sister and friendly-cooperation cities, shares the general window and closed on 30 May 2026. No notice naming a 2027/2028 intake had been published by 17 September 2026. Separately, the university’s official indexed 2026 China Link research call requires CSC submission at least three months in advance and study starting by August 31, 2027. Its Global Link visiting-scholar programme accepts applications year-round, with fiscal-2026 recipients starting by December 30, 2027. These are research-visit rules, not 2027 degree deadlines; live page retrieval was unavailable on October 3, 2026.

Degree and non-degree CSC applicants

The 2026 guide requires both CSC’s application under the relevant scholarship instructions and submission of Sichuan University’s required documents through the Overseas Students Office website. It does not state which system must be submitted first. General master’s, doctoral and non-degree applications ran November 1, 2025–May 30, 2026; undergraduate applications ran January 1–May 30, 2026. These general windows do not replace a scholarship-specific deadline.

Obtain SCU pre-admission qualification before applying in CSC, Type B, agency 10610, at least three months in advance. After CSC submission, email nic8203@scu.edu.cn with your name, CSC serial number and China Link scholarship request. CSC reports award results to SCU, which informs applicants. The exchange lasts 1–12 months and must start by August 31, 2027; this is an arrival limit, not an application closing date. A complete checklist and application-fee stage are not established here.

Reference: 2026 China Link short-term research call; arrival no later than August 31, 2027; official indexed text, live page unavailable October 3, 2026. Confirm the latest notice for the same course and route before applying.

Read the university's procedure
  1. 1

    Choose your program and intake

Check Sichuan University's current prospectus for your degree, teaching language, eligibility and deadline. Arrange supervisor contact or pre-admission first when the program requires it.

    Read official admission instructions
  2. 2

    Prepare your documents

Use the checklist below, then compare it with your program's required documents. Prepare any signed forms, translations and referee submissions before starting the final application.

  3. 3

Follow the portal order in the Type B notice

If it asks for the CSC form in the university system, finish CSC first and upload that form. If it asks for university admission or recommendation first, complete that stage before CSC. Where both systems are required, submit to both; use a CSC-only process only when the official notice explicitly specifies it.

    Read official admission instructions
  4. 4

    Complete the required application systems

Use the university and CSC instructions below in the order specified by your program. Keep names, degree, major and teaching language consistent across the forms. Check submission status in every required system.

  5. 5

Track decisions and respond to requests

Check your portal and email for missing-document requests, interviews and results. If a form is returned, correct it and resubmit. Keep admission and scholarship decisions separate; follow the final offer for acceptance, registration and original-document checks.

Document checklist and upload instructions

Use the document list for your exact program. Prepare these common items, then add any scholarship-specific forms:

  • Identity: passport information page and photograph. Copy your name, birth date and passport number exactly into each application.
  • Education: diploma or official expected-graduation certificate, transcripts and any required degree authentication. Include the original language and certified translations where requested.
  • Language: the required HSK, IELTS, TOEFL or accepted alternative. A medium-of-instruction letter replaces a test only if the program allows it.
  • Academic materials: study plan or research proposal; graduate recommendation letters; supervisor or pre-admission letter when required. Some systems send referees a private submission link.
  • Additional requirements: CSCA results for applicable undergraduate routes; portfolio for relevant arts programs; medical form, police clearance, financial guarantee or guardian documents when listed. Check validity periods before arranging time-sensitive documents.

Scan each complete document clearly. Use the file type and size limit shown beside its upload field; combine multi-page documents only where the system permits. Open every uploaded file to check legibility, page order, signatures and stamps. Keep a copy of everything you submit.

Application templates
How to fill the university application

Follow the submission method in your programme's notice. The steps below apply when it requires an online form; email and paper applications follow their separate source-linked instructions above.

  1. Open the university link for your degree level. On an admissions website, find the international-student application entry, then register or sign in. Button names vary between systems.
  2. Choose the correct entry year, degree, teaching language and program. Read its requirements before selecting your funding option.
  3. Enter personal information as it appears in your passport. List education and employment dates accurately, and enter a reliable email address.
  4. Complete the study plan and referee fields. Upload each document to its matching slot; enter a CSC application number only if your route asks for one.
  5. Preview the whole application. Follow the fee instructions, submit the form and check that the system acknowledges submission. Saving a draft does not submit it.
How to fill the CSC application
  1. Open the CSC portal below and register or sign in. Complete your personal details before starting the scholarship application.
  2. Select the application category specified in the current scholarship call. Type A commonly uses a dispatching authority and Type B a university; confirm the exact category and agency number in that route's current notice and check the receiving institution displayed by the system.
  3. Select the degree category, teaching language, major and study period specified by the eligible program. Keep these consistent with your university application.
  4. Upload the requested documents, review all fields and submit. Download the completed application form; sign and upload it to the university or dispatching-authority system when instructed.
  5. Save your application number and a copy of the submitted form. If you withdraw to edit, submit again before the deadline and tell the receiving office if it already began reviewing your application.

University agency number on record: 10610. For Type B, match it to Sichuan University in CSC. Type A uses your dispatching authority's number instead.
