Application fee

The application-fee status has not been verified for the current route. No application or registration fee is published by Yunnan Minzu University. The 2026 international student admissions brochure (云南民族大学2026年国际学生招生简章) publishes a full 费用信息 / Fees section as an official table, and that table lists only tuition and other study-related charges: tuition of CNY 9,000 per year for Chinese language programmes, CNY 11,000-20,000 for bachelor's, CNY 13,000-15,000 for master's and CNY 17,000 for doctoral; accommodation in the international student dormitory at CNY 1,200 per person per year; compulsory health insurance at CNY 800 per year; health certificate at approximately CNY 500 for first enrolment only; and residence permit at CNY 400 each time. The table contains no 报名费 or 申请费 line, and the CSC notice, the Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship notice and both rounds of the Study in YMU Special Scholarship notice likewise state required documents and submission routes without naming any application charge. Per this project's rule, a page that does not state a fee means the fee is unknown, not free. Note that the online application platform named in the scholarship notices is the third-party host ynni.at0086.cn, which is not an official university domain and was therefore not used as evidence; any charge levied there is not documented by the university.

Application timing and source scope

For the 2026 and 2026/2027 intakes Yunnan Minzu University publishes dated windows in four separate official notices on its International School site. The Chinese Government Scholarship High Level Postgraduate Program (中国政府奖学金“高水平研究生”项目, master's and doctoral, Chinese-taught) accepted applications from 3 November 2025 to 22 February 2026 through the campuschina.org system, so that window has closed. The Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship (云南省政府奖学金) for undergraduate, master's and doctoral study accepted applications from 17 November 2025 to 31 December 2025, also closed. The university's own Study in YMU Special Scholarship (留学民大来华留学专项奖学金) ran a first round closing on 23 March 2026 and a second round from 25 August 2026 to 5 September 2026, both now closed at the date of this check. All four scholarship windows and both self-funded windows for the 2026 intake have closed, and no 2027 intake notice had been published at the date of this check, so the next cycle's dates should be treated as an approximation.

Document checklist and upload instructions

Use the document list for your exact program. Prepare these common items, then add any scholarship-specific forms:

  • Identity: passport information page and photograph. Copy your name, birth date and passport number exactly into each application.
  • Education: diploma or official expected-graduation certificate, transcripts and any required degree authentication. Include the original language and certified translations where requested.
  • Language: the required HSK, IELTS, TOEFL or accepted alternative. A medium-of-instruction letter replaces a test only if the program allows it.
  • Academic materials: study plan or research proposal; graduate recommendation letters; supervisor or pre-admission letter when required. Some systems send referees a private submission link.
  • Additional requirements: CSCA results for applicable undergraduate routes; portfolio for relevant arts programs; medical form, police clearance, financial guarantee or guardian documents when listed. Check validity periods before arranging time-sensitive documents.

Scan each complete document clearly. Use the file type and size limit shown beside its upload field; combine multi-page documents only where the system permits. Open every uploaded file to check legibility, page order, signatures and stamps. Keep a copy of everything you submit.

  1. Open the university link for your degree level. On an admissions website, find the international-student application entry, then register or sign in. Button names vary between systems.

  4. Upload the requested documents, review all fields and submit. Download the completed application form; sign and upload it to the university or dispatching-authority system when instructed.
