2026 intake, international students, from the university's own School of International Education · recorded source check: October 2, 2026

Scholarship
The university's 2026 International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship notice is dated 13 March 2026 and states filing opens 1 March 2026.
Application deadline
Closing dates for that award are 15 May 2026 for the master's in international Chinese language education, the one-academic-year study programme and the autumn-entry one-semester programme; 31 October 2026 for the spring-entry one-semester programme; 15 April 2026 for the four-week summer camp; and 15 September 2026 for the four-week winter camp.
Entry requirements
Applicants must file on the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship portal at cis.chinese.cn and register separately on the Yunnan University international student platform at ynu.at0086.cn.
Entry requirements
Eligibility for the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship requires applicants to be non-Chinese citizens, friendly to China, with no criminal record, in good physical and mental health, and aged 16 to 35 as counted on 1 September 2026, relaxed to 45 for serving Chinese language teachers.
Intake
Language thresholds for that award are HSK level 5 at 210 and HSKK intermediate at 60 for the master's programme; HSK level 3 at 270 for the international Chinese language education one-year track; HSK level 3 at 210 for the Chinese language studies one-year track; and HSK level 3 at 180 for the one-semester track.
Tuition
The award covers tuition, accommodation, a living allowance (not for four-week students) and comprehensive medical insurance, and degree students must pass an annual review.
Scholarship
The university publishes a separate Yunnan University Scholarship for international students, alongside the Chinese Government Scholarship High Level Postgraduate Programme and Silk Road Programme, the Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship, and a South and Southeast Asian University Network ambassador scholarship.
Scholarship
The 2026 Chinese Government Scholarship High Level Postgraduate Programme brochure and the 2026 Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship brochure are both published on the university's own sites with dates of 28 and 30 October 2025.
Programmes
The university also publishes a 2026 Southwest United Graduate School international student admission brochure and a 2026 Chinese language trainee programme brochure.
Verified fact
Applications are handled through the Yunnan University international student service platform, with WeChat articles used as the main publication channel for several 2026 brochures.
Tuition notes
No tuition figure is published on the Yunnan University pages read during this check. The university's international student pages state programme structure and scholarship coverage but direct applicants to the online application platform for programme-level fees, and the 2026 brochure PDFs that would list tuition are not retrievable from the links published on the university's English site. Tuition is therefore left unrecorded rather than estimated.
Current CSC deadline
The prior High-Level Postgraduate date pair is not freshly confirmed and should be treated as historical. No 2027/28 opening or closing date was verified.
Scholarship stacking
The claim that the Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship cannot be combined with CSC was not confirmed in a readable current provincial notice; remove that rule until a source supports it.

Application timing and source scope

The recorded language-teachers route is described in 云南大学2026年国际中文教师奖学金招生简章 (Yunnan University Admissions for International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Program 2026), issued by the School of International Education and carrying the application table on the notice itself. Filing on the two required platforms — the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship portal cis.chinese.cn and the Yunnan University International Student Service System (ynu.at0086.cn) — opened 1 March 2026. The dated deadlines, given in Beijing time for 2026 entry, are: Master's Degree in International Chinese Language Education, Bachelor's degree, One-Academic-Year study and One-Semester (Autumn Semester) study all closed 15 May 2026; Four-Week Summer Program closed 15 April 2026; Four-Week Winter Program closed 15 September 2026; and One-Semester (Spring Semester) study opened 1 March 2026 and remains open until 31 October 2026, which is the only 2026 track still accepting applications as of 24 September 2026. The notice is the 2026 edition; no 2027 edition has been published. A full official 2026 Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship PDF has now been recovered. It required university-platform submission before December 31, 2025, Beijing time; that provincial route is historical and closed. The previously checked CSC guide bodies did not establish a current CSC deadline, and no 2027/28 degree or provincial-award window is verified here. The university's most recent CSC notice that states a full, checkable window is the legacy 2018 Chinese Government Scholarship prospectus (1 January 2018 opening, hard-copy receipt deadline 1 April 2018), which is closed and far out of date and is cited here only as the source of the institution's CSC agency number. No 2027/28 opening or closing date was verified. Any earlier High-Level Postgraduate date pair is historical and has not been freshly confirmed.

Recorded CSC agency number; confirm it in the current CSC call: 10673

Yunnan provincial scholarship

The 2026 provincial scholarship PDF directs eligible applicants to create an account in the university student service platform, complete application information and upload documents before December 31, 2025, Beijing time. It requires the provincial application form downloaded from that system, passport and current visa if applicable, passport-number-named photograph and undergraduate CSCA results in the subjects specified for the selected discipline. The source was recovered through its indexed official text; the live PDF timed out. Its complete checklist, assessment stages and any application fee still require confirmation.

Document checklist and upload instructions

Use the document list for your exact program. Prepare these common items, then add any scholarship-specific forms:

  • Identity: passport information page and photograph. Copy your name, birth date and passport number exactly into each application.
  • Education: diploma or official expected-graduation certificate, transcripts and any required degree authentication. Include the original language and certified translations where requested.
  • Language: the required HSK, IELTS, TOEFL or accepted alternative. A medium-of-instruction letter replaces a test only if the program allows it.
  • Academic materials: study plan or research proposal; graduate recommendation letters; supervisor or pre-admission letter when required. Some systems send referees a private submission link.
  • Additional requirements: CSCA results for applicable undergraduate routes; portfolio for relevant arts programs; medical form, police clearance, financial guarantee or guardian documents when listed. Check validity periods before arranging time-sensitive documents.

Scan each complete document clearly. Use the file type and size limit shown beside its upload field; combine multi-page documents only where the system permits. Open every uploaded file to check legibility, page order, signatures and stamps. Keep a copy of everything you submit.

Application templates
How to fill the university application

Follow the submission method in your programme's notice. The steps below apply when it requires an online form; email and paper applications follow their separate source-linked instructions above.

  1. Open the university link for your degree level. On an admissions website, find the international-student application entry, then register or sign in. Button names vary between systems.
  2. Choose the correct entry year, degree, teaching language and program. Read its requirements before selecting your funding option.
  3. Enter personal information as it appears in your passport. List education and employment dates accurately, and enter a reliable email address.
  4. Complete the study plan and referee fields. Upload each document to its matching slot; enter a CSC application number only if your route asks for one.
  5. Preview the whole application. Follow the fee instructions, submit the form and check that the system acknowledges submission. Saving a draft does not submit it.
How to fill the CSC application
  1. Open the CSC portal below and register or sign in. Complete your personal details before starting the scholarship application.
  2. Select the application category specified in the current scholarship call. Type A commonly uses a dispatching authority and Type B a university; confirm the exact category and agency number in that route's current notice and check the receiving institution displayed by the system.
  3. Select the degree category, teaching language, major and study period specified by the eligible program. Keep these consistent with your university application.
  4. Upload the requested documents, review all fields and submit. Download the completed application form; sign and upload it to the university or dispatching-authority system when instructed.
  5. Save your application number and a copy of the submitted form. If you withdraw to edit, submit again before the deadline and tell the receiving office if it already began reviewing your application.

University agency number on record: 10673. For Type B, match it to Yunnan University in CSC. Type A uses your dispatching authority's number instead.
