CSC Scholarship at Beijing Normal University: Application Guide

Scope: 2026 intake, international undergraduate applicants; a separate 2026 prospectus covers master's and doctoral applicants. See the recorded official notices and any source qualifications below.

Application fee

CNY 500 for undergraduate applicants and CNY 600 for graduate applicants, non-refundable; scholarship applicants must also pay

Tuition per academic year

Undergraduate: liberal arts CNY 24,000 (CNY 12,400 per semester); science, engineering and arts CNY 27,700 (CNY 14,250 per semester). Master's Chinese-taught: arts CNY 25,300, other fields CNY 32,300; Master of International Chinese Language Education CNY 65,000 for two years. English-taught master's CNY 60,000 for two years. Doctoral Chinese-taught: arts CNY 32,300, other fields CNY 41,400; English-taught doctoral CNY 98,000 for three years.

Accommodation

Zhuhai campus (Phoenix College) CNY 7,500 per person per academic year for a double room. Beijing campus dormitory rates are not published on the pages opened; booking runs from July 1 to August 15, 2026 through the university booking system. Full Chinese Government Scholarship and International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship students are assigned housing automatically.

Insurance

Comprehensive medical insurance is required before registration. The scholarship-student standard is CNY 400 per half year or CNY 800 per year.

Language and entry requirements

Undergraduate: HSK level 4 with 180 or above for Chinese language and Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, HSK level 5 with 180 or above for all other majors, from tests taken after November 1, 2023, plus a mandatory CSCA score report. Graduate Chinese-taught: thresholds vary by school, from HSK 5 with 195 up to HSK 6 with 240. Age: generally under 50; Chinese Government Scholarship applicants must be 35 or under for master's and 40 or under for doctoral.

Scholarships

The "Silk Road Muduo" scholarship covers tuition, a living stipend and comprehensive medical insurance for the length of the degree, for admitted degree students from Belt and Road countries who hold no other funding; its deadline follows the current prospectus. The Beijing Government Scholarship for enrolled students covers tuition, accommodation and insurance (Category B) or tuition and insurance (Category C). No separate deadline is published for either award. Benefits, applicant nationality, eligibility and deadlines vary by award and route; the standard CSC package does not apply to every listed scholarship.

Source caution

The older iso.bnu.edu.cn site still carries 2016 and 2019 material; the current admissions authority is admission-is.bnu.edu.cn. The university has published a Spring 2027 non-degree undergraduate credit notice; no regular 2027 degree notice was located as of October 2, 2026.

Application dates — official notice audit

BNU has published a Spring 2027 Undergraduate Credit Program notice, a non-degree route. Applications run October 10–December 15, 2026, with a CNY 450 application fee. No regular 2027 degree admission window was confirmed by this audit. Other programs have separate notices and this credit-program window does not establish their deadlines.
