CSC Scholarship at Minzu University of China: Application Guide

Tuition notes

The College of International Education Chinese Language Program notice publishes the language-programme tuition explicitly as CNY 8,800 per semester and CNY 17,600 per academic year, plus teaching materials at CNY 300 per semester and insurance at CNY 400 per semester. Degree-level tuition figures are not published on any official page that could be opened; the degree programme landing pages (留学民大 → 本科生项目, 研究生项目) render empty bodies with no fee table.

Accommodation

West Gate International House (international student apartment building, located outside the west gate of the campus): AB single room CNY 70–80 per bed per day; AB double room CNY 55 per bed per day; quad room CNY 55 per bed per day. Rooms are equipped with air conditioner, washing machine, refrigerator, kitchen, bathroom with shower, bed, desk, wardrobe and wireless internet.

Medical insurance

The notice states international students are required by Chinese regulations to purchase Chinese comprehensive medical insurance and must pay it upon registration, and that insurance payment is mandatory to complete registration. The Chinese Language Program fee line states insurance at CNY 400 per semester. No separate annual rate is published on the pages opened.

Entry requirements

Language: For Chinese-taught programmes, Chinese proficiency must reach at least HSK Level 4. Applicants for English-taught programmes must provide IELTS or TOEFL score reports or other documents proving English proficiency. For the Chinese Language Program, proof of language proficiency (HSK certificates or Chinese learning transcripts/certificates) is requested if available.. Age: Chinese Government Scholarship High Level Postgraduate Program: master's applicants must be under 35 years old; doctoral applicants must be under 40 years old. Chinese Language Program: applicants must be citizens of a country other than the PRC, above 18 years old and in good health. The English-taught MA notice collects age/degree conditions by programme but no separate age ceiling is stated beyond the scholarship programme's limits.. Required degree: Master's applicants must hold a bachelor's degree; doctoral applicants must hold a master's degree. Master's programmes are 2–3 years and doctoral programmes 4 years. Required documents include the CSC application form, notarised highest diploma, academic transcripts from the bachelor's stage onwards, a personal statement and study plan (no fewer than 1,000 characters for master's, no fewer than 1,500 for doctoral), two recommendation letters (from professors for doctoral applicants, from professors or associate professors for master's applicants), proof of language ability, a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form, a copy of the passport data page, a certificate of no criminal record, and a supervisor acceptance letter if available. Applicants whose passport validity does not extend beyond 30 September 2025 were instructed to renew it. Applicants of Chinese descent must satisfy the same 4-year passport and 2-year residence rule referenced by the university.. Application dates — official notice audit

The 2026 ICLTS guide gives applicant deadlines April 15 for July, May 15 for September, September 15 for December 2026, and October 31, 2026 for March 2027. The notice does not publish a host-review date of 10 November, so none is recorded here. As at 3 October 2026 only the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship route for March 2027 entry is open, and the notice states that applications opened on 1 March 2026; the degree-admission windows are separate and have closed — the 2026 self-funded degree deadline was 31 May 2026, the Chinese Government Scholarship High Level Postgraduate (Type B) deadline was 31 January 2026 and the Youth of Excellence Scheme deadline was 31 January 2026. Official 2026 undergraduate admission notice dated 13 Nov 2025 gives the self-funded deadline May 31 2026 and CIS undergraduate deadline May 15 2026, minimum age 18 and high school credential, CNY 600 application fee, tuition CNY 20,000 ordinary/CNY 28,000 arts per year, insurance CNY 800/year, visa CNY 400 and accommodation CNY 16,000–21,000/year.
