CSC Scholarship at Shenyang Aerospace University: Application Guide

10143 — the CSC Scholarship page states "Agency code for SAU is 10143" and instructs applicants to submit the Chinese Government Scholarship application online at campuschina.org, print and sign the form, then post hard copies to the International Education College.

Application duration

Rolling and not dated by academic year: for the March semester applications run September to December, and for the September semester applications run March to June, with the specific date subject to the admission notice; classes begin mid-March and mid-September respectively.

Scholarship application period

Both the CSC Scholarship and the Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship pages state that applications are open from the beginning of January to the middle of April every year, with results announced by mid-June.

CSC scholarship coverage

Tuition exempt, covering education costs including administration and student activity expenditure; free campus accommodation, or an off-campus accommodation subsidy, normally a twin room in a university dormitory; monthly stipend of CNY 2,500 for undergraduates, CNY 3,000 for master's students and general scholars, and CNY 3,500 for doctoral students and senior scholars.

CSC eligibility

Foreign nationals in good health, aged no more than 35, holding the high school, undergraduate or postgraduate certificates required by the relevant scholarship category, with excellent grades, and not a recipient of any other scholarship at the time of application.

Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship coverage and eligibility

Tuition exempt, free campus accommodation and a monthly stipend of CNY 3,500; applicants must be foreign nationals in good health, aged no more than 40, holding a master's degree recognised by the Ministry of Education of the PRC, with excellent grades, and must not be receiving any other scholarship at the time of application.

University Scholarship scope

The Outstanding/distinguished International Student's Scholarship is for self-sponsored international students already registered on an undergraduate programme for one year or more who have not applied for temporary leave or extension of study; it is assessed on the previous academic year's record, with a first prize requiring an average of 85% and no course below 80 marks, a second prize an average of 80% with no course below 75, a third prize at least 70 marks in every course, and a single item scholarship at least 65 marks in all courses.

Registration fee

The Fee Structure page lists a Registration charge of CNY 700; no separate application fee is described on the How to Apply or FAQ pages.

Tuition rates

CNY 26,000 per year for a doctoral degree in the English medium, CNY 20,000 per year for a master's degree, CNY 18,000 per year for a bachelor's degree, CNY 12,000 per year for the Chinese Language programme and CNY 14,000 per year for the English-medium Foundation Program.

Accommodation and living charges

Friendship Villa accommodation is CNY 1,200 per month for a private room, CNY 850 for a single room and CNY 600 for a twin room; health insurance is CNY 600 per year, the residence permit CNY 840 for one year or CNY 440 for less than a year, books CNY 2,000 over four years, bedding CNY 500, internet CNY 480 per year, the physical test CNY 700 and the airport pickup service CNY 350 per use, with 100 units of electricity free each month.

Degree programmes taught in the English medium

Bachelor's programmes (4 years) include Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Telecommunication Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, International Business, Finance, Cross-border E-Commerce, Automation and Industrial Design. Master's programmes (3 years) include Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Control Science and Engineering, Information and Telecommunication Engineering, Business Management and Design. Doctoral programmes (4 years) are Aerospace Science and Technology and Mechanical Engineering.
