Application dates, fees and sources

Hainan University's International School published its 2026-2027 Chinese language and culture programme brochure (海南大学2026-2027学年中国语言文化进修项目招生简章) on 9 December 2025; it was reopened on 1 October 2026 and is unchanged. It gives the spring semester (March 2027) application deadline as 31 December 2026 and the autumn semester (September 2026) deadline as 10 July 2026, which has closed. Published costs: a registration fee (报名费) of CNY 400 paid with the application and non-refundable whether or not the applicant is admitted; tuition of CNY 8,050 per semester or CNY 16,100 per academic year; on-campus accommodation at CNY 3,200 per person per semester for a single room in Building 15 or CNY 1,600 per person per semester for a double room in Building 16, with utilities self-paid; insurance of CNY 800 per year or CNY 400 per semester; and a medical examination fee of about CNY 400. Eligibility: aged 18 to 60, physically and mentally healthy and meeting Chinese entry-exit conditions. Financial proof: a deposit of at least CNY 30,000 for a one-semester research student or CNY 50,000 for a one-academic-year research student. The notice names the Chinese Government Scholarship country programme, the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship and the Hainan Provincial Chinese Education Scholarship, but publishes no amount, quota or deadline for any of them, so no award is claimed here and none is rendered as full funding. This is a non-degree language admission window, not a degree intake.

Hainan University's official calendar lists Dec 31, 2026 as the deadline for Chinese Language and Culture Program (non-degree), spring semester March 2027 (checked October 2, 2026). A deadline alone does not establish an open application window. Contact the admissions office for the opening date and eligible programs before submitting or paying.

Fee note: Hainan University publishes an application fee of CNY 400. The Chinese text of the official 海南大学2026-2027学年国际学生招生简章 states under 七、费用支付: '1. 报名费:400元。提交申请材料的同时缴纳报名费,无论是否录取,报名费不予退还。' — a 报名费 (registration/application fee) of CNY 400, paid at the same time as the application materials are submitted, and not refunded whether or not the applicant is admitted. The university's own English brochure for the same intake states the same figure in the EXPENSES (CNY) section as '1. Application fee: 400 Yuan/RMB — Application fee should be paid when application materials are submitted; it is non-refundable.' The figure is separated from tuition in both texts: the next line reads '2. 普通专业学费收费标准(待定)' / '2. Tuition fees to be determined', so CNY 400 is not a tuition figure, and it is well below the CNY 2,000 ceiling. The same page gives accommodation at CNY 3,200 per semester for a single room and CNY 1,600 per semester for a double room, insurance at CNY 800 per year or CNY 400 per semester, and a health check of around CNY 400 — none of which is the application fee.

  4. 4

    Review your offer and costs

Document checklist and upload instructions

Use the document list for your exact program. Prepare these common items, then add any scholarship-specific forms:

  • Identity: passport information page and photograph. Copy your name, birth date and passport number exactly into each application.
  • Education: diploma or official expected-graduation certificate, transcripts and any required degree authentication. Include the original language and certified translations where requested.
  • Language: the required HSK, IELTS, TOEFL or accepted alternative. A medium-of-instruction letter replaces a test only if the program allows it.
  • Academic materials: study plan or research proposal; graduate recommendation letters; supervisor or pre-admission letter when required. Some systems send referees a private submission link.
  • Additional requirements: CSCA results for applicable undergraduate routes; portfolio for relevant arts programs; medical form, police clearance, financial guarantee or guardian documents when listed. Check validity periods before arranging time-sensitive documents.

Scan each complete document clearly. Use the file type and size limit shown beside its upload field; combine multi-page documents only where the system permits. Open every uploaded file to check legibility, page order, signatures and stamps. Keep a copy of everything you submit.

How to fill the university application

Follow the submission method in your programme's notice. The steps below apply when it requires an online form; email and paper applications follow their separate source-linked instructions above.

  1. Open the university link for your degree level. On an admissions website, find the international-student application entry, then register or sign in. Button names vary between systems.

  4. Complete the study plan and referee fields. Upload each document to its matching slot; enter a CSC application number only if your route asks for one.
  5. Preview the whole application. Follow the fee instructions, submit the form and check that the system acknowledges submission. Saving a draft does not submit it.
How to fill the CSC application
  1. Open the CSC portal below and register or sign in. Complete your personal details before starting the scholarship application.
  2. Select the application category specified in the current scholarship call. Type A commonly uses a dispatching authority and Type B a university; confirm the exact category and agency number in that route's current notice and check the receiving institution displayed by the system.
  3. Select the degree category, teaching language, major and study period specified by the eligible program. Keep these consistent with your university application.
  4. Upload the requested documents, review all fields and submit. Download the completed application form; sign and upload it to the university or dispatching-authority system when instructed.
  5. Save your application number and a copy of the submitted form. If you withdraw to edit, submit again before the deadline and tell the receiving office if it already began reviewing your application.

Hainan University CSC scholarship FAQ

Does Hainan University accept CSC Type B applications?

Hainan University appears in our directory based on prior CSC host or program evidence. For 2027-2028 Type B participation, consult the university's current international-admissions notice and confirm the application channel and Agency Number before applying.

Is the CSC scholarship at Hainan University fully funded?

A full Chinese Government Scholarship normally covers tuition, accommodation or a housing subsidy, medical insurance, and a monthly stipend. That does not prove Hainan University will offer a full Type B award in 2027-2028: some routes are partial or unavailable, so confirm the current notice and your final award letter.

What is the application deadline for Hainan University?

The latest official information checked October 1, 2026 says: Hainan University's International School published its 2026-2027 Chinese language and culture programme brochure (海南大学2026-2027学年中国语言文化进修项目招生简章) on 9 December 2025; it was reopened on 1 October 2026 and is unchanged. Check the current notice for your degree, route, and intake before applying.

What can I study at Hainan University on a CSC scholarship?

Fields listed for Hainan University in Haikou, Hainan include School of International Education (国际教育学院), College of Agriculture, School of Tropical Agriculture and Forestry, College of Civil Engineering and Architecture. If its current CSC notice confirms your degree level and subject, use the official program catalogue to check the teaching language and identify a suitable supervisor.

Does Hainan University charge an application fee?

Hainan University publishes an application fee of CNY 400.

Figures based on China Scholarship Council program information. Always verify current details on campuschina.org and your target university's admissions page.
