CSC Scholarship at Jiangsu University: Application Guide

Jiangsu University publishes degree and scholarship routes through its Overseas Education College. Compare the selected programme’s requirements, language, charges and award coverage; the canonical fee record gives CNY 200, rather than a universal free application.

The university's CSC document list asks for a pre-admission letter or an invitation letter from a prospective supervisor, printed on the university's special-purpose letterhead and carrying the supervisor's signature and contact information. A plain email screenshot is weaker. Request the formatted letter well before the November window so there is time for corrections.

Jiangsu University appears in our directory based on prior CSC host or program evidence. For 2027-2028 Type B participation, consult the university's current international-admissions notice and confirm the application channel and Agency Number before applying.

A full Chinese Government Scholarship normally covers tuition, accommodation or a housing subsidy, medical insurance, and a monthly stipend. That does not prove Jiangsu University will offer a full Type B award in 2027-2028: some routes are partial or unavailable, so confirm the current notice and your final award letter.

The latest official information checked October 2, 2026 says: 2026/2027 cycle, read live on the Overseas Education College site (oec.ujs.edu.cn) on 14 September 2026. (1) Self-funded degree applicants — the official 招生日程 / Dates and Deadlines table publishes two named intakes. 2026秋季招生 / 2026 September Intake: application start 2026年4月1日 (1 April 2026, English page 'April. 1, 2026'), application closing 2026年6月30日 (30 June 2026, 'Jun. 30, 2026'), registration 2026年9月9日-9月11日 ('9–11 Sep, 2026') — CLOSED as of 14 September 2026. 2027春季招生 / 2027 Spring Intake: the application start-date cell is blank; the application closes 25 December 2026 ('Dec. 25, 2026'), with registration 3–4 March 2027 ('3-4 Mar, 2027'). (2) Chinese Government Scholarship, Category B, applied directly through Jiangsu University: the SCHOLARSHIPS → Chinese Govt. Scholarship (CSC) page states under 'II. To apply through Jiangsu University directly (Category B)', coverage master's and PhD programmes, Application Start Nov 1st, 2025 and Deadline Nov 30th, 2025 — CLOSED. The same page records that once candidates are chosen as CSC candidates at the beginning of May, a new scholarship admission notice is issued, and visa documents are posted in June or July. (3) Chinese Government Scholarship, Category A (bilateral, through the local Chinese embassy or consulate): the page states 'Deadline: Please contact the local Chinese embassy/consulate' and warns that different embassies have different agency numbers, so no date is set by the university. (4) Chinese Government Scholarship Category B applicants who are not selected: the page states that applications submitted after April 25th will only be considered for the JSU Presidential Scholarship or as self-funded, which is the operative cut-off for that fallback. (5) Bachelor's applicants in the cycle must additionally submit a CSCA (China Scholastic Competency Assessment) transcript — the Application Procedure page records this as part of initial review, with no separate date published. (6) The JSU Presidential Scholarship page states no separate deadline and directs applicants to upload the scholarship form inside the admission application at admission.ujs.edu.cn. (7) No 2027/2028 intake notice had been published on oec.ujs.edu.cn as of 14 September 2026; the newest items on the Chinese notice column are 2026 holiday and summer-vacation administrative notices (the latest being the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday notice for 2026), none of which opens a recruitment round. Check the current notice for your degree, route, and intake before applying.

Fields listed for Jiangsu University in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu include Overseas Education College (海外教育学院), School of Agricultural Equipment Engineering, School of Food and Biological Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering. If its current CSC notice confirms your degree level and subject, use the official program catalogue to check the teaching language and identify a suitable supervisor.

Jiangsu University publishes an application fee of CNY 200, stated on three independent official pages of the Overseas Education College. (a) The English Estimated Costs page carries a section headed 'Following expenses are for first-year only' whose first line is 'Application Fee: CNY 200', immediately followed by 'Registration Fee: CNY 400' and 'Physical Examination: approximately CNY 400 (to be paid to Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Bureau)'. (b) The Chinese parallel page 留学费用 → 四、其他费用 states 仅限第一年 (first year only): 申请费: 200元, 注册费: 400元, 体检费: 550元. (c) The Application Procedure page, step 3, is headed 'Payment of application fee' and instructs: 'You can pay the application fee CNY 200 (non-refundable) through WeChat or Alipay directly in the Application System.' The CNY 200 application fee is therefore the figure recorded here, and it is charged once, at application, in the first year only. It is expressly distinct from the CNY 400 注册费 / Registration Fee, which is a separate first-year registration charge and is not the application fee; the page also notes both the application fee and the seat reservation fee are non-refundable but 'will be deducted from the fee you should be paying after registering on campus'. Every other figure on the same pages is annual, per-semester or per-month and is therefore TUITION, accommodation, insurance or living cost and is deliberately NOT recorded in feeAmount: Chinese-taught bachelor's tuition 16,000–34,000 CNY/academic year by discipline band (liberal arts 16,000, social science 18,000, economics and management 20,000, science 22,000, engineering 20,000, pharmacy 22,000, arts 20,000, medicine 34,000) and English-taught bachelor's 18,000–34,000 CNY/academic year by major (accounting, business administration, corporate finance and international economics and trade 18,000; chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science, food science and engineering, mechanical design and materials science and engineering 20,000; pharmacy 22,000; clinical medicine MBBS 34,000); master's 20,000–38,000 CNY/academic year; doctoral 26,000–42,000 CNY/academic year; the MBA at 30,000 CNY/academic year over a two-year programme; non-degree study at 9,500 CNY/semester or 18,000 CNY/academic year; on-campus double-room accommodation 3,000 CNY/bed/semester or 4,900 CNY/bed/academic year, or 490 CNY/month for a double room where a stay falls short of one semester; medical insurance 600 CNY/year for degree students and 800 CNY/year for one-year non-degree students (roughly 400–800 CNY for other non-degree students, settled at registration); residence-permit processing 400 CNY paid to the Public Security Bureau; books about 1,000 CNY/year or 600 CNY/semester; living costs about 1,200 CNY/month. The CSC page records a waiver for the embassy route only: for Category A admits 'The admission notice will be the same as self-fund students', but the application fee is unnecessary to pay' — i.e. the CNY 200 is waived for Category A; no equivalent waiver statement was found for the Category B route, and the Chinese 中国政府奖学金 page publishes no fee at all.
