1.What you get

Two tiers (Jiangsu Normal University official page):

Full scholarship — tuition, registration, lab, internship and basic textbook fees waived + free on-campus dormitory (or ¥10,000/year accommodation allowance) + ¥1,500/month living allowance + comprehensive medical insurance.

Partial scholarship — a flat ¥30,000 per academic year for undergraduate and postgraduate students (¥20,000 for college-level; exchange students ¥2,000/month for 3–12 months).

The partial award is granted per academic year, not automatically for the whole degree — some universities state it covers the first year only. Confirm renewal terms with your university before accepting.

2.Eligibility

Non-Chinese citizens in good health with a strong academic record. Age limits: bachelor's under 30, master's under 35, doctoral under 40. You must meet the host university's own admission requirements (language requirements are set per program — e.g., one participating university asks IELTS 5.5–6.0 for English-taught or HSK4 for Chinese-taught).

You cannot hold another Chinese government or local-government scholarship simultaneously — but the application track is separate from CSC, so applying after a CSC rejection is fine; only receiving both at once is prohibited.

3.How to apply (two applications, not one)

1. Register and apply on the provincial Study in Jiangsu portal — studyinjiangsu.org. 2. Also apply for admission on your chosen university's own portal — universities nominate candidates.

4.When is the deadline?

There is no single province-wide deadline — each university runs its own window.

Verified 2026-cycle data points: one participating university's window ran April 10 – June 10, 2026; another lists May 30 as its yearly deadline; the province opened its 2026 winners' channel in April.

Pattern: applications open roughly February–April and close May–June for September intake. Check studyinjiangsu.org and your target university each spring — start documents 1–2 months earlier.

5.Participating universities

Includes Nanjing University, Southeast University, Soochow University, Hohai University, Jiangsu University, Jiangsu Normal University, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, NUIST, and Suzhou University of Science and Technology.

6.Other provincial scholarships worth knowing

Shanghai Government Scholarship — Type A (full): tuition + accommodation + insurance + stipend ¥2,500/3,000/3,500 per month (bachelor/master/PhD); apply via study-shanghai.cn and the university, generally February–April (official guide).

Beijing Government Scholarship — tuition-waiver scholarship (PhD ¥40,000/yr, master ¥30,000, bachelor ¥20,000), applied through the host university, typically by end of February.

Guangxi Government Scholarship (ASEAN citizens only) — tuition + accommodation + insurance + stipend ¥1,000–2,000/month by level; apply directly to a Guangxi university (official page).

Provincial scholarships are generally described as less competitive than CSC and make excellent parallel applications — quotas are university-allocated, so smaller universities are often easier targets. See our hidden gems list.

7.What is the Jasmine Jiangsu Government Scholarship worth?

Full award: tuition waiver + dorm (or ¥10,000/yr) + ¥1,500/month + insurance. Partial award: ¥30,000 per academic year for degree students.

8.What is the deadline for the Jasmine Jiangsu scholarship?

Each university sets its own window; verified 2026 windows closed between late May and June 10. Applications typically open February–April for September intake.

9.Can I apply if I was rejected from CSC?

Yes — the application tracks are separate. You just cannot receive two Chinese government scholarships simultaneously.

10.How do I apply?

Two steps: apply on studyinjiangsu.org and separately on your chosen Jiangsu university's admission portal.

11.Is it renewable for the whole degree?

The partial ¥30,000 award is per academic year and at some universities covers only the first year — confirm renewal terms before accepting.
