Chinese-taught language requirement

HSK Level 4 at 200+ in general; HSK Level 5+ for medicine, humanities, economics/management and International Chinese Language Education, otherwise a year of Chinese remediation

Doctoral and selected master's supervisor letter

A Letter of Acceptance from Supervisor is compulsory for doctoral applicants and for master's applicants to the Schools of Information Science and Engineering, Physics, Transportation, Life Science and Technology, Civil Engineering, Medicine, Electronic Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and Computer Science and Technology

Belt and Road Digital Intelligence Management (English-taught master's), Belt and Road Sustainable Infrastructure (English-taught master's) and Global Health and Public Health (English-taught master's) are run under the Chinese Government Excellence Scholarship programme

Tuition notes

Published as 每年学费清单（以人民币计算） (annual tuition list, calculated in RMB) on the College of International Students site, split into Chinese-taught and English-taught degree programmes plus non-degree programmes. The university notes 具体学费金额当年公布 (the exact tuition amount is published in the year concerned), and that short-term student charges follow this standard while exchange students are charged per the bilateral exchange agreement.

Entry requirements

Language: Chinese-taught programmes require HSK Level 4 at 200 or above; applicants for medical, humanities and economics/management majors and for International Chinese Language Education must provide an HSK Level 5 certificate or above, failing which a year of Chinese language remediation and certification is required. English-taught programmes require TOEFL 80+ or IELTS 6.0+ (the Chinese-language SEU scholarship page also accepts Duolingo 100+), unless English is the applicant's native or official language. All students must pass an HSK examination at graduation: HSK Level 5 minimum for Chinese-taught master's and HSK Level 3 for English-taught master's.. Age: Not stated on the scholarship pages read; the age limit is set by the individual CSC programme rules.. Required degree: All degree and education certificates from high school onwards, original or notarised. Applicants still in their final year must supply an official pre-graduation document confirming the highest degree certificate will be obtained by 15 September 2026.. Financial guarantee: A Financial Support Guarantee Statement for International Students is required as application document number 12.

Application or registration charge — scope

The official Tuition and Accounts page states a non-refundable CNY 800 application fee, regardless of admission outcome. Online payment through fs.seu.edu.cn is recommended; bank transfer is also accepted, with the receipt emailed to admission@seu.edu.cn. Tuition, CNY 800/year insurance and CNY 9,000/year accommodation are separate. Payment at the exact application stage is not expressly required by the currently readable fee page. Graduation language requirement
