Application dates, fees and sources

Northeast Normal University's International Students Office published its International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship notice for the one-semester research programme with March 2027 entry on 4 September 2026 (留学东师|东北师范大学国际中文教师奖学金一学期研修项目开放申请(2027年3月入学)); it was reopened on 1 October 2026 and is unchanged. It sets three separate dates, all Beijing time: applications on the university's own international-student system (studyatnenu.nenu.edu.cn or nenu.17gz.org) close 20 October 2026; the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship portal at cis.chinese.cn closes 31 October 2026; and recommending-institution and host-university review closes 10 November 2026. Applicants seeking recommendation through NENU's HSK test centre must complete the NENU application by 20 October 2026 and email the application number to admission@nenu.edu.cn. The programme is funded for five months and requires HSK level 4 (180 points) with an HSKK score; applicants must be aged 16-35 as at 1 September 2026, relaxed to 45 for in-service Chinese language teachers. The notice publishes its own funding standard: tuition, a free double room or CNY 700 per month for approved off-campus residence, a living allowance of CNY 2,500 per month for one-semester research students, and comprehensive medical insurance of CNY 400 for one-semester research students. The one-semester and one-academic-year programmes in principle do not admit applicants who have held the same scholarship type within the past three years, and award decisions rest with the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation's central expert review rather than with the university. This is a scholarship window, not a self-funded admission window. The 2026/2027 Chinese Government Scholarship High-Level Postgraduate Program (Type B) window recorded on 17 September 2026 as running from publication of the guidelines on 5 November 2025 to 22 February 2026 has closed; that paragraph was not re-read on 1 October 2026. No 2027/2028 intake notice had been published when this was checked on 1 October 2026.

Northeast Normal University's application window above was checked against its official admission notice (last check October 2, 2026). Windows can close early when seats fill: confirm on the official portal before relying on a date.

Fee note: The recorded general 2026/2027 admissions tariff is CNY 400 for bachelor’s applicants and CNY 800 for master’s and doctoral applicants, paid online and non-refundable. The freshly read master’s page confirms CNY 800. The separate High-Level Postgraduate CSC notice does not state a fee or exemption; do not describe its applicants as owing the bachelor’s CNY 400 charge.

Document checklist and upload instructions

Use the document list for your exact program. Prepare these common items, then add any scholarship-specific forms:

  • Identity: passport information page and photograph. Copy your name, birth date and passport number exactly into each application.
  • Education: diploma or official expected-graduation certificate, transcripts and any required degree authentication. Include the original language and certified translations where requested.
  • Language: the required HSK, IELTS, TOEFL or accepted alternative. A medium-of-instruction letter replaces a test only if the program allows it.
  • Academic materials: study plan or research proposal; graduate recommendation letters; supervisor or pre-admission letter when required. Some systems send referees a private submission link.
  • Additional requirements: CSCA results for applicable undergraduate routes; portfolio for relevant arts programs; medical form, police clearance, financial guarantee or guardian documents when listed. Check validity periods before arranging time-sensitive documents.

Scan each complete document clearly. Use the file type and size limit shown beside its upload field; combine multi-page documents only where the system permits. Open every uploaded file to check legibility, page order, signatures and stamps. Keep a copy of everything you submit.

Application templates
How to fill the university application

Follow the submission method in your programme's notice. The steps below apply when it requires an online form; email and paper applications follow their separate source-linked instructions above.

  1. Open the university link for your degree level. On an admissions website, find the international-student application entry, then register or sign in. Button names vary between systems.
  2. Choose the correct entry year, degree, teaching language and program. Read its requirements before selecting your funding option.
  3. Enter personal information as it appears in your passport. List education and employment dates accurately, and enter a reliable email address.
  4. Complete the study plan and referee fields. Upload each document to its matching slot; enter a CSC application number only if your route asks for one.
  5. Preview the whole application. Follow the fee instructions, submit the form and check that the system acknowledges submission. Saving a draft does not submit it.
How to fill the CSC application
  1. Open the CSC portal below and register or sign in. Complete your personal details before starting the scholarship application.
  2. Select the application category specified in the current scholarship call. Type A commonly uses a dispatching authority and Type B a university; confirm the exact category and agency number in that route's current notice and check the receiving institution displayed by the system.
  3. Select the degree category, teaching language, major and study period specified by the eligible program. Keep these consistent with your university application.
  4. Upload the requested documents, review all fields and submit. Download the completed application form; sign and upload it to the university or dispatching-authority system when instructed.
  5. Save your application number and a copy of the submitted form. If you withdraw to edit, submit again before the deadline and tell the receiving office if it already began reviewing your application.

University agency number on record: 10200. For Type B, match it to Northeast Normal University in CSC. Type A uses your dispatching authority's number instead.
