CSC Scholarship at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics: Application Guide

The How to Apply page states four application-fee tiers: language course (short term) CNY 580; language course (long term) CNY 680; degree course taught in Chinese CNY 800; degree course taught in English CNY 1,000. The fee is charged after submitting the online application and the application is processed only once the fee is received; the page states plainly that 'application documents and application fee will not be returned', so it is non-refundable. Applying in person at the IICLC office is also offered, with payment of the application fee at the same rates.

University application fees typically range CNY 400-800; a few universities charge none, and a few waive it for CSC awardees. The CSC portal itself is always free.

Tuition notes

The School of International Education's Fees page carries a heading 'Tuition fees (Unit:RMB)' but the table body does not render as text (the page is a JavaScript/dynamic shell) and no per-level tuition figure is readable on any page I opened. The university's downloadable Fees Table is referenced from the How to Apply page but its figures were not readable. No tuition figure is therefore recorded rather than guessed.

Medical insurance

Comprehensive medical insurance is listed as a component of the Chinese Government Scholarship coverage (including accommodation fee), but no premium is stated for self-funded students on the pages opened.

Entry requirements

Language: For the CSC 2026/2027 Chinese University Program: applicants for Chinese-taught programmes must submit a valid HSK report at HSK Level 5 or higher; applicants for English-taught programmes must provide relevant language certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL. The university's separate How to Apply page states IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 72 for master's and doctoral programmes taught in English. International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship applicants must submit valid HSK transcripts (validity 2 years).. Age: For the CSC 2026/2027 Chinese University Program: master's applicants must be bachelor's degree holders under the age of 35; doctoral applicants must be master's degree holders under the age of 40. The separate 2026 International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship notice requires applicants to be aged between 16 and 35 on September 1, 2025, with the maximum for in-service Chinese teachers extended to 45.. Required degree: CSC 2026/2027 Chinese University Program: master's applicants must hold a bachelor's degree; doctoral applicants must hold a master's degree.
