CSC Scholarship Application Form: Complete Guide

Start in the official Chinese Government Scholarship Information System. The current Shanghai government guide directs applicants to the official online system and says the application form is generated for download after the online application is submitted (Shanghai government CGS guide). This means the finished PDF comes from the system; it is not a blank form that should be completed on a third-party website.

Enter through CampusChina's "Scholarship Application for Students" link and create an account if needed. The Chinese Embassy in Fiji's system instructions also identify CampusChina as the official information website and warn applicants against unofficial intermediaries (embassy instructions).

Use the pair stated in the notice that controls your route. Do not copy a Type A embassy code or a Type B university code from another applicant. The Shanghai government guide says to consult the application institution for the correct Program Category and Agency Number, then confirm that the expected institution name appears after the number is entered.

The Fiji instructions explain the consequence: the category and agency number are directly matched, and the receiving authority will not get an application with the wrong pair. Verify the displayed name before continuing and use the CSC agency-number guide if you need to identify the responsible authority.

Select the student category you are applying for, not the qualification you already hold. Use a major offered by the chosen university, select an available institution from the system and match the study duration to the published program. The current Shanghai government guide lists these as core application checks and tells applicants to use the university's standard major name.

Keep the CSC form consistent with every second portal required by the host. Fudan University's 2026 instructions require Type B applicants to select Fudan in the CSC system, print and sign the CSC form, then upload it in Fudan's own application system (Fudan 2026 guide). Check the CSC and university portal-order guide before submitting either version.

Follow the current checklist for your route and program. The Shanghai government guide gives a general list that includes the system-generated form, passport page, degree or expected-graduation evidence, transcripts, language evidence and other scholarship documents. A university or dispatching authority can add its own requirements.

For example, Beijing Normal University's 2026 postgraduate brochure requires its university application form as well as the CSC form for scholarship applicants (BNU 2026 brochure). The Fiji instructions require uploaded documents to be clear, authentic and valid. Use the documents and medical-exam guide as a preparation aid, then let the current official checklist control the final file set.

You may be able to withdraw the application, edit it and submit it again before the receiving authority starts processing it. The Fiji system instructions state that a withdrawn application must be resubmitted after editing or it will not be processed. They also say an application cannot be withdrawn once processing has begun.

The 2026 China Link system guide gives the same sequence for its applicants: use "Withdraw" before the host university begins processing, make the correction, then submit again (Northwest A&F University system guide). Download a fresh form after resubmission so you do not send an obsolete PDF.

That step is route-specific. Chongqing Normal University's 2026 notice tells applicants to download and print the form after submission, sign it and confirm the system-generated serial number (CQNU 2026 notice). Fudan's current instructions require a printed and signed CSC form to be uploaded in the university portal. Sun Yat-sen University's 2026 Youth of Excellence guide also requires applicants to print and hand-sign the CSC form after online submission (SYSU 2026 guide).

Do not turn those examples into a universal paper-mail rule. The Fiji route accepted the form through its stated electronic handoff and said paper mailing was no longer accepted. Follow the current embassy, dispatching-authority or university notice for the signature, upload, email or paper step.

Confirm that the official portal generated the form, the Program Category and Agency Number match the intended receiving authority, the selected major and study duration match the current program, and every required upload is readable. If you withdrew an application, confirm that you submitted it again and downloaded the new form. Then follow the route's exact instruction for signing, uploading, emailing or mailing the generated PDF. Keep a copy of the submitted form and its serial number where one is shown.
