The university's own 2026 Hexi University Enrollment Brochure for International Students, published on its Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Department site on 2026-05-25, lists in its Related Expenses table an Application Fee of 500 yuan for all types of students, alongside tuition listed as free of charge for both Chinese Language Students (non-degree) and Undergraduate Students (non-medical), a textbook fee charged according to actual cost, and accommodation at 3,000 yuan/academic year (double room) or 2,000 yuan/academic year (triple room). The brochure states no refund policy for the application fee and gives no charge date beyond the application process, so no refundability claim is made. The older 2020 brochure on the same site also stated a 400 yuan 报名费, but the 2026 figure of 500 yuan is the one published in the current notice.

University application fees typically range CNY 400-800; a few universities charge none, and a few waive it for CSC awardees. The CSC portal itself is always free.

The 2026 brochure's Related Expenses table states tuition is free of charge for both the non-degree Chinese Language Students and the non-medical undergraduate categories, and labels the undergraduate line explicitly 'non-medical', which indicates the medical category is treated differently but states no figure for it. No master's or doctoral tuition is stated. All listed programmes are taught primarily in Chinese; no English-taught tuition differential is stated.
