CSC Scholarship at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University: Application Guide

Application deadline

The Chinese Government Scholarship application window is published as 申请时间：1月1日-3月1日 (1 January to 1 March), with applicants normally applying through the Chinese embassy or consulate education or culture office in their home country; the university accepts master's and doctoral applicants.

For the 2026-2027 academic year the university recommended 20 candidates for the Chinese Government Scholarship High Level Postgraduate Program, published in a notice dated 25 March 2026, with objections accepted until 28 March 2026.

Scholarship

The Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship Class A award is CNY 30,000 per person for master's and doctoral students and its window is 1 to 30 April; Class B is CNY 20,000 per person for undergraduates with a window of 1 to 31 May; Class C is CNY 6,000 per person for long-term non-degree students.

Language requirement

Provincial scholarship eligibility: master's applicants must hold a bachelor's degree and be under 35, doctoral applicants must hold a master's degree and be under 40, undergraduates must hold a high school qualification and be under 30, and applicants need a valid new HSK level 4 or above unless the programme is taught in English; recipients may not hold another Chinese scholarship at the same time.

Tuition

The ZSTU President Scholarship (校长奖学金) is open to new master's and doctoral degree students from 1 April to 30 April each year and covers a tuition waiver, free on-campus accommodation excluding utilities, comprehensive insurance, and a living allowance of CNY 1,700 per month for master's students and CNY 2,000 per month for doctoral students.

Tuition

The ZSTU Current Students Scholarship is open from 1 May to 31 May each year. Class A (postgraduate) and Class B (undergraduate) first prizes cover one academic year of tuition and second prizes cover 50 percent of one academic year's tuition; Class C rewards competition and cultural or sports achievement winners, from CNY 500 to CNY 9,000 per award depending on level and team or individual entry.

Tuition

The ZSTU Undergraduate Freshmen Scholarship is available to all admitted bachelor's freshers and exempts the tuition of the second semester after passing the first semester review and the third semester's tuition after passing the second semester review; the review requires earning two thirds of enrolled course credits, an attendance rate above 80 percent and a dormitory inspection average above 80.

Intake

Bachelor's applicants for the 2026/2027 intake must sit the CSCA (China Scholastic Competency Assessment, 来华留学本科入学学业水平测试) and submit the score to the application system before 31 May 2026; the test covers mathematics as a compulsory subject plus physics for applied physics, automation, communication engineering and big data management and application, and is offered in Chinese and English papers. Applicants to fully English-taught bachelor's programmes are exempt, and Chinese language bachelor's applicants holding a valid HSK level 4 score are also exempt.

Language requirement

Language requirements: applicants to Chinese-taught programmes need HSK level 5 and applicants to English-taught undergraduate programmes need HSK level 4 on entry, with a graduation requirement of HSK level 5 for Chinese-taught and HSK level 3 for English-taught students, or TOEFL 80 / B2 equivalent for English-taught routes.

Age requirement

Eligibility ages: bachelor's applicants under 30, master's applicants under 35 (flexible for healthy applicants with work experience and strong academic ability) and doctoral applicants must hold a master's degree; applicants under 18 must submit notarised legal guardian documents for a guardian in China.

Accommodation

On-campus accommodation is a twin-bedded room at CNY 2,700 per person per semester or CNY 5,400 per person per academic year excluding electricity, and the 2026 guide states a monthly accommodation-related charge of CNY 450 per person; bedding may be brought by the student or bought from the school.

The 2026年国际学生招生简章 was published on the university's international admissions site on 3 March 2026 and lists bachelor's, master's, doctoral, Chinese language and non-degree programmes, with 56 undergraduate majors taught in Chinese, English or both.

The university names Chinese Government Scholarship, International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship and Zhejiang Sci-Tech University Foreign Students Scholarship as the scholarships it provides, and its own pages add the President Scholarship and the Current Students Scholarship.

Programmes

Applications are submitted online through the Zhejiang Sci-Tech University International Student Service Platform at zstu.at0086.cn/student, followed by preliminary review by the School of International Education, academic review including interviews for some programmes, and then issue of a pre-admission notice, admission letter and JW202/DQ form.

Chinese language programme (non-degree): CNY 7,000 per semester or CNY 14,000 per academic year for long-term students, and CNY 610 per week for short-term students. Bachelor's degree: liberal arts CNY 15,000 per academic year, science and engineering CNY 18,000 per academic year, art CNY 22,000 per academic year. Master's degree: CNY 25,000 per academic year. Doctoral degree: CNY 30,000 per academic year. During extension study the charge is per credit: liberal arts CNY 340, science and engineering CNY 415, art CNY 450. On-campus twin-bedded accommodation is CNY 2,700 per person per semester or CNY 5,400 per person per academic year, excluding electricity, and insurance is bought separately in the type the university requires. These are per-year, per-semester or per-credit charges and are never an application fee.

Application or registration charge — scope

The current official Tuition and Fees page lists CNY 300 as Application & registration Fee. It instructs students to transfer required fees before registration and bring the payment statement. No refund policy or application-stage deadline is stated. The previously cited /ApplicationInfo/144 page is a 2016 admission notice, so its CNY 400 room deposit must not be treated as a confirmed current charge.
