CSC Scholarship Ghana: 2026/27 Route Guide

No. Ghana's 2026/27 notice required applicants to submit the electronic CSC application by November 30, 2025 and send the completed hard-copy application to the Ghana Scholarships Secretariat by December 18, 2025. Both deadlines have passed (Ghana Scholarships Authority notice).

As of September 7, 2026, the Authority's current opportunities page does not list a new Chinese Government Scholarship call as open (current opportunities). Wait for a 2027/28 notice and confirm its dates, study levels, and submission method. The completed call was limited to Ghanaian citizens resident in Ghana who were applying for master's or doctoral study. Master's applicants needed a relevant first degree with at least 2nd Class Upper and could not be above 35. Doctoral applicants needed a relevant master's degree, at least 2nd Class Upper, and could not be above 40. Applicants also had to be medically fit, and the notice particularly encouraged women to apply (official eligibility rules).

Those were rules for one completed route. They do not establish undergraduate eligibility or guarantee that the next call will use the same academic thresholds. A university may also set its own program and language requirements.

Applicants first used the CSC Study in China system, selected Program Category Type A, and entered Ghana Scholarships Secretariat agency number 2881. The notice required electronic submission to CSC by November 30, 2025. Applicants then had to print the application and deliver the hard copy with supporting documents to the Secretariat in Accra by December 18, 2025. Only shortlisted applicants who met the published criteria were to be invited for an interview (official application sequence).

The notice listed the printed CSC application form; certified academic certificates and transcripts; an 800-word study plan and research proposal; two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors; a birth certificate; one passport-size photograph; a National Service Certificate; a CV; and the passport biodata page. A pre-admission letter and an HSK, IELTS, or TOEFL report were requested when applicable (official document list).

The passport-validity date printed in that notice is January 28, 2025, which predates the notice's November 2025 publication. Treat it as an apparent date error, not as a safe rule for a new application. Confirm passport validity and every time-sensitive document from the next call before applying.

The Ghana 2026/27 notice did not publish a benefit table. It therefore does not support a precise claim about airfare, stipend amounts, accommodation, insurance, visa costs, or other expenses for this national route (Ghana Scholarships Authority notice).

University Type B notices can publish different terms. Chang'an University's 2026/27 notice listed registration, tuition, accommodation, a monthly allowance, and medical insurance, while Beihang's 2026 Belt and Road notice listed tuition, accommodation, stipend, and medical insurance but expressly excluded international travel (Chang'an University coverage; Beihang coverage). Those university terms do not define Ghana's Type A award. Use the next Ghana notice and the individual award documents as the controlling sources.

Jinan University's 2026 postgraduate route required applicants to apply to the university first, pass its review, obtain its pre-admission letter, and then submit a CSC Type B application using agency number 10559. Chang'an University's first 2026/27 Type B batch stated that it had no nationality or major limit, but its second batch limited both nationalities and majors. The two batches also had separate deadlines, and both required the CSC and university systems (Chang'an University notice). Those cycles are closed. Monitor the Ghana Scholarships Authority opportunities page and its official application portal. The portal identifies the Chinese Government Scholarship as a partner route and warns that the Authority's service is free and that no individual, group, or third party has been engaged to assist applicants (official application portal).

Prepare clear scans of permanent records such as your academic certificates and transcripts, but wait for the new notice before ordering documents that can expire. Check the new study levels, age cutoff, agency number, portal sequence, deadline, passport-validity rule, and coverage rather than copying the 2026/27 details.
